Ogu: Imo Government poised to make sportsmen to be self-reliant

The Imo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Dan Chike Ogu has reassured of the determination of the 3R administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma to seek all possible channels for youth involvement in sports in an endeavour to terminate unemployment.

He made this known when he met with Imo state Powerlifting and Weightlifters at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

He said that “the Shared Prosperity Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma is making and executing more policy thrusts aimed at making Imo youths self-reliant, employable and entrepreneurial through sports.”

“Imo state Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is putting up achievable procedures which will make Imo state not to only key into schemes and projects but also unlock more doors for involvement of youths in numerous areas of sports globally,” he added.

Hon. Ogu charged Imo youths to shun social vices and conduct themselves in manner that will bring glory to them, their families and the state. As well as be up to date with news of initiatives, programmes and policies of Governor Hope Uzodimma and that of the federal government.

He said this would let them to take advantage of every available opportunity and have upper hand to make their lives better.
