Rangers’ Ibrahim Olawoyin eyes AS Pelicans’ scalp in CAF Confederation Cup decider in Enugu

Rangers new season acquisition, Ibrahim Olawoyin is confident that the positive team spirit in camp will play a huge role in leading his side to victory over AS Pelicans of Gabon in the return leg of the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Enugu based side who are Nigeria’s sole representative in the CAF Confederation Cup will tackle AS Pelicans in the second leg of the first round of the competition. The first leg ended 2-1 with Nnamdi Egbujor giving Rangers a lifeline going into the second leg which will hold at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.
In an exclusive chat with www.dasportainment247.com, Olawoyin expressed his thoughts on playing his first official game in from of the home crowd.
“Although I have made my debut for the club in Gabon, I feel very good knowing that I will be playing in front of a very dedicated crowd at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium for the first time officially,” Olawoyin told Dasportstainment247.com.

“And I want to also tell the fans that they should expect nothing but victory and qualification to the next round.”
After an impressive season with Abia Warriors, Olawoyin switched to Oriental rivals, a move he is thrilled about.
“I must confess that the players I met here are fantastic and they really welcome me well, the former Abia Warriors midfielder noted.
“This has really given me the needed confidence to play. Even the technical crew, the management and fans are all warm towards me. I am really happy about that.”
After sealing a deal with kit manufacturing outfit, Lotto, a lot is expected of the homers come Sunday evening and Olawoyin revealed that the players are aware of the enormity of the task ahead and have resolved to approach the game with all seriousness.
Hear him: “We are motivated by what the management of the club is doing, the coaches and fans. We the players have also called the attention of each other and agreed that the match is a must-win. So we are going to work for each other and I believe we are going to come out victorious”.
While Rangers entertain AS Pelicans in Nigeria, Enyimba will be in action against Al-Hilal Omdurman in Sudan all in a bid to keep Nigeria’s flag flying on the continent.
