Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly Rt Hon Paul Emeziem has assured Heartland FC of Owerri of government’s support and attention.
Speaking in Owerri shortly before the team left for Kaduna, the lawmaker commended the efforts of the team, technical crew and management while promising that the house of assembly under his watch will create the enabling environment for sports to thrive in the State
“We are proud of you and IMO people are proud of you , I am here on the invitation of the Deputy Speaker who has done a lot for the team. You can be rest assured of government’s support and attention. On our part as lawmakers, we are working in tandem with the executive to create an enabling environment for sports and football to thrive in the State.”
The Speaker was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu , and the majority leader Hon Kanayo.
In a related development, Ex Super Eagles Striker and top scorer of the 2103 African Cup of nations, Emmanuel Emenike splashed the cash on the scientific soccer boys. Emenike, a friend of the deputy speaker was part of the Speaker’s entourage who came to inspire the team.

In a similar vein, Celebrity Bar Man, Cubana Chief Priest, another ally of the deputy speaker, empathized with some Heartland FC players who were bereaved with the sum of 120 thousand Naira.
Reacting, the skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa thanked the Speaker for the visit which he described as reassuring while promising that the players will continue to make the state proud.
