.Enugu Rangers, Abia Warriors slug it out on Friday
All is now set for the semi-final games of the 3rd Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament with Heartland FC up against Lamray United in the first last four encounter billed for the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri today by 3pm.
Heartland FC defeated Rivers United, Apex Krane and Firstmahi before playing a 1-1 draw with Abia Warriors to top Group B with 10 points from four games while Lamray United came second in Group A with 10 points from four games also.
Lamray United fueled by the impressive display of ex-Golden Eaglets striker, Divine Nwachukwu drew 1-1 with Enugu Rangers before beating Ingas FC, Cynosure FC and Enugu Active All Stars. They only finished second behind the Flying Antelopes, Enugu Rangers on goals difference.
To be certain of semi-final qualification, Lamray United pipped Ingas FC 2-1 on Tuesday. The crucial three points ensured that Ingas FC cannot overtake Lamray United even when they were still with a game at hand as at then.
The second semi-final tie holds on Friday between Enugu Rangers and Abia Warriors. Both teams like Heartland FC and Lamray United are yet to taste defeat.
Enugu Rangers have relied heavily on Chidiebere Nwobodo for goals with the player scoring seven out of the eight the Coal City team have scored but they will be up against Abia Warriors who have only conceded a goal out of four games.
Abia Warriors placed second in Group B with eight points from four games. They beat Apex Krane (3-0), Firstmahi (4-0), and drew the other two against Heartland FC and Rivers United.
