Tsenba Wummen League Under 14 & 16 Football League enters Week 23 on Saturday after the last weekend (Week 22) games produced a record 91 goals in both categories.

Riding on the outstanding home game the reigning champions, Mees Palace Football Academy have at hand against Multiple Waves which is yet to be decided, Relentless FA continues to hold on to the top spot in the Under 14 cadre. Jr. Sporting Boys, Highland Stars, Elspuron, Gangere Youths, and Super Stars are also trying to measure up as they remain in the top seven.

In the Under 16 category, Mees Palace are the undoubted leader after maintaining their 10 points gap at the top over second-placed St. Monica.
Kuru Young Stars have displaced faltering FC Izam off the third spot while Rahbam, SJC Lions, and Tin City are the other teams in the top seven.

Week 23 Preview

Under 14

Can Week 23 surpass the 39 goals plundered in the Week 22 fixtures of last weekend? Ceemonie SA who are in the 10th spot with 33 points will today try to return to winning ways after two consecutive losses to Elspuron (1-3), and Top Free Academy (1-2) when they square up against second-placed Mees Palace who have been on the prowl since they lost their first game of the season to Multiple Waves in Week 20. They thrashed SJC Lions 4-1 and pummelled Riverside FA 7-0 in their last two games.

The reigning champs who are second on the log with 56 points from 21 games are desperate to leapfrog current pacesetter, Relentless FA who have successfully kept the one-point gap at the top but have played a game more.

Jazzy Stars with two consecutive victories over Invaders and Young Champions will be gunning for a third straight win when they trade tackles with rejuvenated Elspuron. Jazzy Stars are in the eighth position with 34 points while Elspuron who bagged four points from their last fixtures with Ceemonie SA (3-1), and Super Stars (2-2) are in the fifth spot with 40 points.

Relentless FA have a tough game to negotiate against third-placed Jr. Sporting Boys who have 42 points from 21 games and are eager to cover up the 15 point gap between them and their today’s foes. Relentless FA defeated Light FC 3-0 and Vet Glory 4-1 in their last two games to continue to exert their superiority at the top which they occupy with 57 points from 22 games. Jr. Sporting on their part picked fourth points from games with Hephzibah (3-0) and Gangere Youths (1-1).

Multiple Waves still held the ace as the only team that has beaten Mees Palace this season but they have not managed the results that followed that landmark victory effectively. They are ninth on the log with 34 points from 21 games but have only picked only a win from their last two games. They were beaten 2-1 at home by Young Stars but bounced back to defeat hapless Hephzibah 2-1 in another uninspiring result. They will face 13th placed SJC Lions in an away fixture with anything other than the maximum points assumed to be a setback.

Gangere Youths have drawn their last two games against Vet Glory and Jr. Sporting Boys but can they return to winning ways when they face relegation-haunted Hephzibah today? Gangere Youths who are sixth on the log with 37 points are in dire need of a win while Hephzibah who were unlucky to lose to Multiple Waves last week are also seeking their fourth win of the season that will take their points tally to double digits.

Light FC and Invaders who are at the wrong end of the table in the 16th and 20th spots will battle headlong with the latter still in search of their first victory of the season after 20 games. Both have lost their last two games.

Under 16

The Under 16 category recorded awesome 52 goals last weekend in the Week 22 games played and the 10 fixtures available today promise to produce goals and exhibit pure, raw soccer artistry at their best.

Pacesetter Mees Palace whitewashed Yard FC 9-1 in a one-sided affair last weekend to move to 100 goals from 22 games. They face fifth-placed Rahbam FA who could only muster a 1-1 draw against Flying Shooters last week. Mees Palace are first on the log with 64 points from 22 games and have won whopping 21 matches with a mere draw.

Kuru Young Boys have displaced FC Izam in the third spot and they have a tough assignment at hand to hold on to that position which they occupy with 50 points when they host Samba Boys who are eighth on the log with 33 points, today. Kuru have won their last two games against Mabo Young Stars and Tin City while Samba Boys also grabbed maximum points against Jazzy Stars and FC Sports. It is one of the top fixtures of the weekend.

Second-placed St. Monica annihilated their last two foes: Top Free Academy (3-1) and Royal Stars (5-1) and they are hoping to make it three wins on the bounce with a tie with CF Bwin today. Bwin have been blowing hot and cold this season and picked only one win out of their last two games. They are 14th on the log with 27 points from as many games and require a win to move into the top 10.

FC Izam who are fourth on the table with 47 points from 22 games gold the enviable record of being the only team that has prevented Mees Palace from recording 22 straight wins after they secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw two weeks ago. It was a result they needed badly at the time because they had lost three straight games on the bounce before that fixture. They defeated Galatians FA 3-1 last week too and will face Yard FC who only last week suffered a 9-1 loss to Mees Palace. Will FC Izam/Yard FC tie produce another wide margin score?

Jazzy Stars who are in the ninth spot with 33 points from 22 games comprehensively thrashed Top Free Academy 8-2 last weekend barely a week after they were beaten 2-0 by Samba Boys. The Galaxies square up against Royal Stars today who were beaten by Jeddy Academy (4-0) and St. Monica (5-1) in their last two fixtures.

In some other fixtures also in the Under 16 cadre, Jeddy Academy face Galatians FA; FC Sports and Top Free Academy square up in the battle of basement teams; Mabo Young Stars lock horns with City Rollers while Adalchi FA and Flying Shooters draw battleline in another tie.
