President, Nigeria Community Northern Cameroon canvasses supports for Super Eagles

……says Garoua is a peace-loving city

President and the Eze Ndigbo Nigeria Community, Northern Cameroon, His Majesty Kenneth Amaechi Chukwuma has charged the Super Eagles of Nigeria not to lose focus in their pursuit of the most coveted trophy in African football- the Africa Cup of Nations title.

The respected and revered Eze Ndigbo stated this in Garoua, Cameroon while fielding questions from journalists who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

“Well, they are very happy because for over forty years of my stay, the national team, the Super Eagles have not been to Garoua, Cameroon so, the Nigerian community and the Cameroonians are very happy to have the team here while the supports have been massive,” Chukwuma stated.

“We give the team the full support they need with Ogene music and dancers, we’re happy because their performance in the ongoing AFCON has so far been impressive.”

Speaking on the duration of his stint in Garoua, Cameroon, the President of the Nigerian Community says he has been in the northern part of Cameroon for over forty years ago.

“I have been in Cameroon for over forty years ago, we have never had any problem with the Cameroonians because we live as brothers and sisters, they love Nigerians and we equally love them as well.”

Reflecting on the challenges that come with being the president of the Nigerian community in northern Cameroon, the Eze Ndigbo says

“It has not been easy being the President, Nigerian Community in Northern Cameroon but I am trying my best to make sure every Nigerian in this town lives peacefully.”

Stating further, he says:- “We have no problems or any challenges now but if we do, I will meet with the governor of the northern state as he promises to give us his audience and attention.

“We have a meeting point where all Nigerians gathered every month to attend to our needs and brainstorm on how to foster unity and peace amongst ourselves and the Cameroonians in particular.”

The Eze Ndigbo also send some words of reservation to intending Nigerians, particularly those that support the Super Eagles to not hesitate to come over to Garoua, Cameroon as it is a town with peaceful co-existence amongst the foreigners and indigenes with very tight security apparatus and appreciates the President of Cameroon for providing such a friendly environment.

He concluded by appealing to Nigerians to continue to pray for the team to get to the final of the tournament and return to Nigeria with the trophy.
