Runners up at the last African Nations Championship competition, Nigeria’s Eagles B team will slug it out with Hawks of Togo in the final qualifying round for the 2020 edition in Cameroon.
Nigeria were beaten 4-0 by the hosts of the last competition, Morocco in the final on a cold night in Rabat but they must negotiate their way past plucky Togolese if they are to make another appearance at the biennial championship.
Togo defeated the Benin Republic, the last Nigerian opponents in the qualifiers for last competition in Morocco. The first leg holds in Lome on the weekend of September 20-22 while the return leg will take place in Nigeria on the weekend of October
18-20.
The winner of the encounter will sail straight to the competition slated for Cameroon after the initial host, Ethiopia pulls out citing logistics reasons.
In the other fixtures has released from the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the defending champions of the CHAN, Morocco must overcome Algeria to attempt to secure the title back to back.
