Plateau United’s Mohammed Zulkifilu has stated that he is willing to make sacrifices for the interest of his team after the Peace Boys head coach, Abdu Maikaba hinted he would try out another role in the coming season.
Zulkifilu was in the Flying Eagles squad to the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland and also featured for Nigeria at the African Games in Morocco where he had a fantastic outing for Nigeria in both competitions.
He excelled as a right-back whose pace was a constant threat to the opposing team while overlapping but he hinted that his coach at Plateau United, Abdu Maikaba has given him a new role.
Zulkifilu said that coach Maikaba called him and told him that he could perform as a striker too and that he has been playing for the club as a striker or a supporting striker during their preseason activities.
“Yes, it is true that I have been converted to a striker and I can say that I am doing well,” Zulkifilu said.
“I was spoken to by our coach and he convinced me that I could do well as a striker and I have been tested.
“I hope to continue trying my best for my club.”
