Gov. Seyi Makinde unveils Adekunle Adeniyi, two other 3SC new players

The number one citizen of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde this afternoon Thursday 3rd, January unveiled three new players of Shooting Stars Sports Club at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan.

The new three players include former Katsina United dependable defender, Adekunle Adeniyi, Former Lobi Stars winger, Sunday Akleche and Sunday Faleye from Dukla Prague of Czech

Adekunle Adeniyi who left Katsina United at the end of last season after he saw off his two-year contract has completed a three-season move to 3SC after agreeing personal terms.

The highly experienced centre back is expected to join up with the rest of the squad along with two other players unveiled by the governor as soon as possible and commence training in Ibadan where the team is based

Adekunle who has featured for traditional teams in Nigeria such as Sunshine Stars of Akure, Insurance of Benin and Katsina United is expected to bring his wealth of experience on board to solidify the back line of the Oluyole Warriors who are looking to maintain their status in the league.

Speaking with the media after the unveiling at the Oyo State Governor’s Office on Thursday, the energetic and rugged defender said,

“I must first of all give thanks to God who made this possible and I must say, I am elated to have signed for Shooting Stars who are one of the best traditional teams in the Nigeria top flight league.

“It’s indeed a great privilege to feature for Shooting and I will do my best to uphold the glory of this great club that is arguably one of the best in the country.

“I am here for a serious business which is to contribute my quota to help the team win Laurels in the ongoing Nigeria football season. The Akure born defender concluded

Shooting Stars have moved out of relegation zone on the NPFL table sit comfortably on 6th position following their latest impressive form that saw them recorded three straight wins with an emphatic 4 – 0 victory at home over relegation threatened side Heartland FC of Owerri in an NPFL matchday 10 decided at the Adamasingba Stadium.
