New entrant, First Mahi Babes FC on Wednesday landed safely at Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state, venue for their 2023 Round of 32 Federation Cup tie against NWFL side, Royal Queens of Delta State.
The Abajah in Nwangele LGA of Imo state based side who placed second behind Heartland Queens in the Imo FA Cup play off on their way to qualification are in a boisterous mood with confidence of a good outing against their more established opponents.
Coach of the side who are already settled at the Ekiti venue, Manila Gift said his Girls are excited and looking forward to an interesting outing in their first National Federation Cup game.
“As you can see, my Girls are excited over the tournament which we know is a prestigious competition that every players would want to be part of.
“For us it’s a first time experience and we intend to make the most out of it as we also learn in the process.
“As for the opponents, we know they are a premier league side and have respect for them but we are in the tie for the bite and to show case what we can offer.
In the Imo state play off last month, First Mahi Babes FC were held to a goalless draw by Heartland Queens FC before bowing to them in the penalty shoot out 4-5.
Royal Queens FC on their own side lost 3-0 to Delta Queens in the Delta State FA Cup final decided last Sunday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Sunday.
The match between First Mahi Babes FC and Royal Queens FC of Delta takes place on Friday April 28, 2023 by 4pm at Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state.
