Super Eagles and FC Copenhagen attacker, Akinwunmi Amoo has made his return from injury in a Danish Superliga match against Randers on Friday night.

Before Friday, Amoo had not kicked a ball this season after suffering an ill-timed injury in July during one of their pre-season friendlies but the former cadet international made his comeback in grand style Despite the home loss.

The injury was especially frustrating for the 20-year-old’s development as he was yet to settle in since January when he joined the club from Sweden.

He trained throughout the week and was a 74th minute substitute in the 3-1 loss to Randers as a replacement for Bergmann Johannesson.

The former Brightville Academy product was unable to change the outcome of the result but he showed glimpses of player that has recovered from his injury nightmare and ready for the season with Copenhagen.

Besides Amoo’s impressive cameo, the game also featured two other Nigerians, Stephen Odey, who played for the Super Eagles B and former Under 23 invitee, Tosin Kehinde.

Odey was introduced in the 46th minute while his compatriot who once played in the Manchester United’s reserves, Kehinde started from the bench before he was substituted in the 82nd minute.

The loss saw Copenhagen slip to the seventh spot with six points from five games while Randers are third with nine points from the same number of games.

FC Copenhagen will try to stage a comeback when they visit Lyngby next week Friday while Odey and Kehinde’s Randers will be at home to Viborg next Sunday.
