Den Bosch 2-2 Almere City: Ex- Flying Eagles’ invitee, Akujobi hits 5th goal of the season

Former Flying Eagles invitee, Hamdi Akujobi continued his impressive season in the Dutch Eerste Divisie after he notched his fifth goal of the season in Almere City’s 2-2 away draw at Den Bosch on Friday night.

Akujobi who started his 32nd game of the season out of 34 matches in the game was in the thick of action as Almere City gained another valuable away point to strengthen their stronghold on the fourth spot with 67 points from 37 games.

It was FC Den Bosch that struck first but Almere City managed to get their bearing and were rewarded with the equaliser in the 33rd minute through Alvaro Pena. Akujobi who plays in the team as a right back bagged the second goal for the visitors in the 51st minute. It was his fifth goal of the season from 34 games.

Nick de Groot made sure it was spoils shared with the leveller for Den Bosch in the 63rd minute. It was how the game ended.

The Alex Pastoor led Almere City cements their fourth spot and have booked a place in the season ending playoffs with their sight on promotion to the Eredivisie at the end of the playoffs.

Akujobi was substituted in the 64th minute in place of Jeredy Hilterman.

He will now hope his club end the season brightly when they host one of the playoffs prospects, MVV Maastricht on Friday next week in the last fixture of the season.
