Heartland Queens’ left back, Onyedikachi Ekezie has assured that her side will win within regulations the 2023 Federation Cup women’s round of 32 clash against an evenly matched opponents, Confluence Queens.

The premier league sides who will be meeting each other for the first time in all competitions in Friday’s oldest Cup matchup at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, Delta State will as well be mindful of the 16-spot ticket.

Ekezie said the Owerri landladies are well-oiled and inspired to unsettle the expected tough challengers from the Confluence city of Lokoja, Kogi state.

“No, we are not banking on the lotteries of penalties, we will wrap up the game with victory within the approved 90 minutes.

“Of course, it’s not going to be easy, not even in a Federation Cup but the entire team is determined to achieve the feat within the timeline.

“We didn’t meet them in the league due to the group we were and now we are facing them in the Federation Cup, I believe we will win the match.

“I’m not worried with the opposition, it was almost like that in the immediate past edition as we started the campaign against Sunshine Queens, a premiership side and then we were in the Championship.

“And now we are in the premiership together with the opposition, I believe we should be able to shoot beyond and better than we did in the previous edition.

“I’m positive we should go beyond the quarters this time around,” said Heartland Queens’ most reliable strong woman.

The winners of the straight knockout nation’s oldest and glamorous Cup competition will proceed to the round of 16 slated to hold on Wednesday, May 10 at yet to be decided venue.
