…as Imo Sports Commisioner, Dan Ogu rewards them for victory again
The Imo state representative at the Chief of Naval Staff/Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA) under 14 male and under 17 female football tournament 2021,
Imo Strikers Queens FC, earlier on Tuesday defeated their counterparts from Ekiti state by four goals to one to make it two wins in their first two games after they thrashed the girls from the FCT by three goals to nothing on Monday.
The Imo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Dan Chike Ogu praised the players for displaying uncommon strength, confidence, skills, and dexterity in their victories over other states tipped as pre-conpetition favourites.
However, the overwhelmed Commissioner urged the team and their handlers to remain focused and dedicated ahead of future challenges. He also assured the team of the Governor Hope Uzodimma led government’s continued support to ensure that they exceed all expectations in tandem with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s policies for sporting excellence.
Hon Dan Ogu again rewarded the Nelly Orisakwe tutored team with cash gift for their victory again and promised to do more as they navigate their way through the tournament.
Their next game is against the girls from the Nigerian Navy on Wednesday.
