Hostilities will resume among the four remaining teams taking part in the 6th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup Monday afternoon, December 27th, 2021 following the Christmas break.
This term, teams that have made it past the Quarter final stage will do battle to earn the bragging rights to play in the final of the 6th edition of the tournament.
In the first semi-final fixture, Samba Boys who defeated Sembe United 2-0 to qualify for the last four will square off against Pokwangli United FC who triumphed 2-1 over Gwandum Academy courtesy of Peace Uwandi’s brace. The game holds 1.00pm at the Billiri Township Stadium, Gombe State.
In the second game slated for the same stadium in Billiri LGA, Balanga LGA Team, the only team that is not from Kaltungo LGA from the semi-finalists, will test the might of Oska United FC at 3.00pm.
In the quarter-final, Balanga LGA Team seemed to be cruising when they went 3-0 up but their opponents, Kalkulum United brave the odds to cancel the three goals in one of the historic moments of the tournament to end the game 3-3.
Balanga LGA Team, however, proved to be the better side in the spot kick to progress 5-4.
Pokwangli United and Oska United are the underdogs of the 6th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup semi final stage as both Samba Boys and Balanga United FC have tested the heat in the 4th and 5th editions of the tournament respectively.
The final comes up on December 29th at the Billiri Township Stadium, Billiri LGA, Gombe state.
