U20 UFOA-B: Nigerian Referees set for Opening day Duties

All three Nigerian referees selected for the 2020 WAFU UFOA-B U20 Championship starting in Cotonou, Benin Republic today (Saturday) will be in action on the opening day of the competition, reports www.aclsports.com

Centre referee Nurudeen Abubakar as well as assistant referees Hope Igho and Mimisen Iyorhe were the Nigerians selected among the team of match officials to officiate in the competition.

Iyorhe, who is one of just two women referees at the competition will be in action in the tournament’s opening game between hosts Benin and Niger Republic. Iyorhe will be the second assistant referee in the game.

The opening match to be decided at Stade Charles de Gaulles will have as centre referee Ivorian Clement Franklin Kpan while his compatriot Nouho Ouattara will be the first assistant referee.

The other two Nigerians will be in charge of the day’s second Group A game involving Togo and Burkina Faso at the same venue, Stade de Gaulles.

Nurudeen Abubakar will be the centre referee while Igho will be his first assistant in the game scheduled to kickoff at 7pm local time.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles who are also taking part in the tournament will be in action on Sunday afternoon in their first group game against the Petit Elephants of Coted’voire at 4pm Nigerian time.
