Youngsters on the Plateau continued from where they stopped during the last midweek games with more action-packed, and goals galore weekend as the Tsenba Wummen Under 14 & 16 Football League season played its penultimate fixtures to the end of the first stanza last Saturday across four centres in Jos.
The kids have not stopped scoring goals aplenty and ensuring that fans that throng their games deservedly enjoy themselves and will always have reasons to come back to watch them in subsequent games.
Week 18 Highlights
In the Under 14 category, 40 goals were scored from only 10 games with a commendable average of four goals per game. Relentless FA caught people’s fancy with an emphatic win while Young Stars, Jazzy Stars, Mees Palace FA, and Riverside FA who bagged their first victory of the season also taught their opponents football lessons with impressive wins.
In the Under 16 cadre, 42 goals were recorded in the frenetic weekend of action from the 10 matches played. Kuru Young Stars, SJC Lions, and Galatians FA all rolled over their opponents with mouthwatering victories while hitherto unbeaten FC Izam tasted their first defeat of the season to the rampaging Mees Palace FA. Did St. Monica’s FA pounce on the FC Izam’s misfortune?
Under 14 Wrap
Ceemonie SA continued their recent resurgence with another victory to jump to the sixth spot with 30 points after a 2-0 win over erratic Elspuron FA who remained in the fifth spot with 33 points despite the loss.
Riverside FA finally recorded their first win of the season after 18 games. They thrashed 15th placed Top Free Academy- whose slides have been quite alarming of recent after a good start to the season. They lost 3-0. Riverside has also left the bottom of the table for the first time in several weeks to move to the 19th spot with five points.
Mees Palace FA secured a routine 3-0 triumph over SJC Lions to continue to keep Relentless FA at bay in the race for the league title. The Black Panthers have scored a whopping 86 goals and are first with 50 points.
Relentless FA also kept the heat on the reigning champions with a 7-1 annihilation of Light FC with Ebuka Sunday scoring four of the goals to ensure the club also moves to 83 goals with 48 points to in the second spot.
Young Champions lost their 10th game of the season in their 4-2 defeat in the hands of 11th placed Super Stars. Super Stars raced to a 4-0 lead with Alamen Mohammed on the scoresheet twice again after his midweek heroics. Young Champions tried a late revival through Henry Chuwang who netted a brace but they were unable to complete the comeback. They are 16th on the log with 18 points as a result of the loss.
Jazzy Stars retained their 10th position with a 4-1 win over Invaders who had their territory invaded without a trace while Gangere Youths, Highland Stars, and Young Stars also recorded heartwarming victories.

Under 16 Wrap
On Thursday, FC Izam needed a second-half turnaround before securing a draw against Galatians FA to indicate a drawback that had not been evident since the start of the season in which they have been irrepressible and showing that they were ready to give Mees Palace FA a good run in the campaign this term.
The battle of the undefeated teams held sway on Saturday and it was the reigning champions that stood tall at the end of the encounter. FC Izam managed to hold Mees Palace FA to a goalless draw in the first half but the Tony Ogharanduku’s lads struck in the 44th and 55th minutes through Kelvin Adeyemo and Christopher Yusuf and just like St. Monica’s FA their unbeaten start ended when they met Mees Palace FA.
Mees Palace are already the first stanza champions even before the start of the weekend games and they have further extended their lead at the top to nine points with a maximum of 54 points from 18 games. Who can stop the defending champions?
FC Izam with 43 points from 18 games has been displaced to the third spot as a result of the loss while St. Monica’s regained the second spot they lost at some stages in the season to FC Izam after they defeated Top Free Academy 3-0 to glide to 45 points from as many games.
City Rollers and Kuru Young Stars continued to turn heads with their remarkable display of recent. They defeated their weekend’s foes, Rahbam FA and Mabo Young Stars 2-0 and 8-1 in that order. The former has moved to the ninth spot with 26 points despite a poor start to the season while the latter- Kuru Young Stars are in the seventh spot with 38 points. Kuru’s Weng Pwajok (4), and Sunday Dalyop (3) contributed seven of the eight goals scored against Mabo Stars.
John Nenbe was the hero as Galatians FA whitewashed CF Bwin 7-1. The young forward scored a hat trick to propel his club to the seventh spot with 30 points from 18 games while Shepherd Dashe and Agowa Abrah scored a brace each in SJC Lions’ 6-1 whiplash of Adalchi FA. SJC moved a step up
