Sports Minister, Soname, Adebutu, Others To Get WNFF/Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Award

Organizers of the maiden Western Nigeria Football Forum/Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Football Tournament have listed the Honourable Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare and nine others for an Award of Excellence.

Eminent and notable sports personalities within and outside of the Western States of Nigeria will grace the award ceremony billed for Osogbo, capital of Osun State on 21st August.

Information made available to the Media Sub Committee of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) revealed that the Honourable Minister and the other nine recipients will be honoured for their selfless service to the development of the beautiful game in the South West.

Alongside Sunday Dare to receive an award are Hon. Kunle Soname; the Chairman of KC Gamings Limited and President of Remo Stars FC, Ikenne Remo, Chief Adebutu Kessington, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, Chief Segun Odegbami, HE Omolade Oluwateru and Mr Yemi Idowu.

Others are, former member House of Representatives, Honourable Ayo Omidiran and Princess Bola Jegede whose contribution to the development and growth of female football has no equal and Dr Rafiu Ladipo who has spent over 45 years in football supportership as well as contributing his quota to the success recorded by the various national teams.

According to the statement jointly released by the Co-Chairmen for the event, Otunba Tade Azeez and Otunba Dele Ajayi, the awards ceremony is aimed at appreciating those who served the zone wholeheartedly and still contribute their quota to the growth of football in the zone and the country at large.

As earlier stated, eight teams will participate in the maiden edition of the tournament including Remo Stars FC (U-15) and Katsina United FC (U15) participating as champions and 2nd runners up in the NPFL/La Liga Football Tournament along with the U15 representatives of the Football Associations of each of the South West States, scheduled to hold between 16th -21st August in Osogbo.
