Mees Palace Football Academy last weekend successfully defended the Tsenba Wummen Football League Under 16 category crown even without kicking a ball after their closest rivals: St Monica and Kuru Young Stars were beaten by their opponents.
The Blue Panthers celebrated the league win with five games to spare in style with a 4-1 demolition of Jazzy Stars FC on Tuesday. It was the team’s third successive title. Mees Palace emerged champions with 94 points from 33 games ahead of St Monica’s Academy and Kuru Young Stars who are both on 75 points each with five matches to the end of the season.
The Under 14 cadre winner is yet to be decided but Mees Palace are still the favourites while Relentless FA are in second spot with other chasing packs struggling to make up the numbers.

With the winner of the league crown already decided, focus shifts to other positions on the league table with St. Monica and Kuru Young Stars neck and neck in the second and third spots. Both are on 75 points but are separated by goals difference.
St. Monica was beaten 3-1 by FC Izam last weekend. It was a game they needed to win to extend the coronation of Mees Palace as champions until Tuesday but they were unable to deliver. They face lightweights, Yard FC today in a game they are expected to win by a wide margin.
Kuru Young Stars continue to chase St. Monica in the race for the second spot. They missed the chance to displace their adversary when they were surprisingly beaten by mid-table side, City Rollers 2-1. Can they return to winning ways against Flying Shooters?
Even though they have already won the league title, Mees Palace will slug it out with 19th placed FC Sports as they seek to end the season with a record points haul.
In another game, Jazzy Stars who are fifth on the log with 54 points are up against FC Izam who are in seventh position with 50 points while SJC Lions trade tackles with City Rollers.
