Ex- Flying Eagles invitee, Hamdi Akujobi has become a subject of intense bidding war between Dutch giants, Ajax Amsterdam, a Belgian and another German club less than two weeks after helping his club, Almere City to qualify for the Eredivisie for the first time in their history.
Akujobi played almost 40 games in the Eerste Divisie and the qualification playoff alone with five goals to help Almere City beat Emmen FC 4-1 on aggregate on June 11th, 2023 in the playoff final to achieve the feat and Ajax are at the forefront of three clubs who are ready to prize him away from the modest club.
Dasportstainment247.com authoritatively gathered that Ajax are willing to offer the 23 year old five years contract with improved offer better than what he presently earns at Almere City, and those close to the youngster are weighing up the option if it will be good for his development.
His advisors are considering the monetary incentives and his first team prospect at Ajax Amsterdam judging by what he passed through at Heerenveen where he spent four seasons but played less than 15 games (14) first team games over the course of his four years stint while accumulating just 511 minutes of action.
The source told Dasportstainment247.com that in as much as his representatives would like Akujobi to have career trajectory and growth, moving to a big club without any guarantees that he would be given a fair share of game time, if he proves himself, would stall his development, hence his reps decision to lay all the markers down before his prospective suitors, before a decision is made on his future.
Also seriously making enquiry about Jobi is newly promoted German Bundesliga side, Damstadt FC. The club has also made his intention known to introduce the Nigerian to the German League with a good welfare package too.
Belgium side, Cercle Brugge are another club who are also on Hamdi’s trail with the assurances that he would get his first team chance.
Dasportstainment247.com has been reliably told that Hamdi’s representatives are studying the various bids with the three clubs and even others who have been admiring the versatile player from afar and that a decision which would be tailored around the player’s development and future would be made soon.
Hamdi still has two years left on his contract with Almere City and so is not desperate to jump ship and playing another season with the newly promoted side in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he is assured of more game time is among the propositions his representatives at considering but nothing has been decided as at the moment.
