Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference Group B1 winner, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, will this Sunday, at the U.J Esuene stadium, Calabar, trade tackles with Calabar Rovers in the final match of the 2020/21 NNL regular season.
Both sides have only pride to play for in this dead rubber game as Shooting Stars are already through to the Super 8 as the table topper, while Rovers are also sure of retaining their NNL status, the outcome of the matchday 22 fixture notwithstanding.
However, the two teams still have scores to settle going by the outcome of their first round clash in which the Oluyole Warriors spanked the Canaan City team 3-0 in Ijebu-Ode, courtesy of NNL top scorer Gafar Olafimihan’s hattrick.
While the Edith Agoye tutored lads will aim at finishing the race on a high by beating the host to affirm their superiority over them, the coach Samson Unuanel tutored Rovers, will go for the maximum points to avenge the season opener’s drubbing by the Stars.
The Ibadan soccer lords arrived Calabar, the Cross River state capital with a hit squad, a pointer to the fact that they will not take the game for granted.
