Over 10.7 million naira have been devoted as prize monies as the inaugural edition of the Anambra BrainBox Football League kicks off in Awka, the capital of the South East state this Saturday.
The tournament is an open event involving all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state and the organisers have stated that mouth watering prizes will be given to teams and individuals hat distinguish themselves throughout the competition.
Overall winners of the month-long football showpiece will be rewarded to the tune of N3m star prize.
Similarly, runners-up at the close of the tournament will receive N2m just as the third placed team will receive N1m.
A breakdown of the amount shows that each of the participating teams will receive N200, 000 appearance fee, totaling N4.2m.
Similarly, coach of the winning team will pocket N200, 000 while N100, 000 each will go to the Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, Most Valuable Player amongst other individual awards.
A seven member media committee headed by Chigozie Chukwuleta with Sab Osuji as Secretary was inaugurated on Monday, 1st May, 2023, by the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue ‘General’ Iloenyosi, in Awka.
