Heartland FC attacker, Onyekachi Okafor is thrilled to help the club with crucial goals in recent games and he is willing to do more as the Naze Millionaires visit Port Harcourt on Sunday to face Rivers United in a Matchday 26 tie.
The Naze Millionaires striker’s goals were crucial in the wins over Remo Stars and Abia Warriors while he also scored against Rivers United, Plateau United and Sunshine Stars to make it five goals from as many games for the club.
Okafor’s fifth goal netted against Abia Warriors on Wednesday was special. He collected a pass from Stephen Chukwude who dribbled two Abia Warriors player to free up Okafor who teed the ball a little before drilling a shot beyond the reach of Abia Warriors Goalkeeper, Johnson Nmecha in the 20th minute.
The striker told Heartland FC Media that he is happy everything has started taking shape at the club again with the win against Abia Warriors and would be more than delighted to score again in Port Harcourt just like he did in the first leg in Owerri.
“Everybody is relieved that we got our first win after a long while. The first goal was very crucial and I am happy I was on position to get it. I will continue to do my best for the team,” Okafor stated to Heartland FC Media.
“We will not just relax with that win. We know we are not where we ought to be. We are going to Port Harcourt with the resolve to go for a win there. I was privileged to score against Rivers United in the first leg. I will like to double it with another goal.
“We just need to be very business like from the beginning until the end. It is a game we can get good result and we shall get that by God’s grace.”
