Bayelsa Queens FC of Yenagoa have arrived Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State for the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Super Six holding at the Dipo Dina Stadium from 19th to 25th April 2021.
The Gloryland Girls were in high spirit after topping the Women Football League for the first stanza before it was abruptly stopped by the league body which reasons has generated much talk in the football fraternity across the country.
The Moses Aduku tutored side are confident that the form that saw them amassed thirty-one points from a possible thirty-nine points from thirteen matches before the stoppage will galvanized them to complete the season on a high at Ijebu-Ode.
Acting Chairman of the team Robin Aprela thanked the Bayelsa state Governor Senator Douye Diri led Prosperity Administration for the support extended to the team thus far and promised that the girls will return back to Yenagoa will the league title and the continental ticket.
Also addressing the team before their departure, Bayelsa state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Dr Daniel Igali assured the Gloryland Girls that the Senator Douye Diri led administration will adequately reward them if they create the record of being the first team to represent Nigeria at the inugural CAF Women Champions League.
Captain of the team Joy Jerry thanked the Bayelsa State government and the management of the team for the wonderful support given to them and promise that they will put in their best as long as their officiating at the Super Six play-off is guaranteed.
