Niger Delta U-17 PEACE CUP: Brothers at war as two Deltan clubs clash in exciting semi final tie; Sam Decent face KIFA for final place

All is now set for today’s semi-final games of the ongoing Niger Delta U-17 Peace Cup holding in Akwa Ibom as the remaining four teams battle for the two final tickets at the Ikot Ekpene Stadium.

In the first semi-final tie, it will be two brothers at daggers drawn when Delta United and Delta Force slug it out for a place in Saturday’s final game.

Both teams needed penalties to defeat their opponents: Ekimogun FC of Ondo and Talent Camp of Bayelsa State respectively but only one of the two will progress to the final while the loser will battle for third place. The game is billed for 2 pm.

In the second semi-final, Imo State’s Sam Decent who have kept their 100 percent record until now will trade tackles with KIFA Academy of Akwa Ibom with the winner grabbing the all important ticket to the final.

A tournament put together by Niger Delta Development Commission and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs is aimed at promoting peace and unity among the Niger Delta States of Abia, Imo, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Edo, Cross River, Bayelsa and Rivers States. It is also meant to help discover hidden talents at the grassroots.
