Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo Chapter has unveiled its executive members following an election of the Association conducted recently in Owerri.
SWAN, Imo now as chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka who was a former Assistant Secretary of the Association. He defeated the former chairman, Everest Ezihe in a keenly contested election. Chukwuemeka works with Darling FM Radio.
Johnkennedy Uzoma of Nigerian Tribune re-emerged as the Vice Chairman as he also served in the same capacity in the last executive while Nation Newspapers’ Tunde Liadi is returning for a second term in office as the Association’s Secretary.
Others unveiled are De-Echo FM Radio’s Kingsley Anosike (Welfare Secretary), Starpost Newspapers’ Iyke Njoku (Treasurer), SilverSports’ Kennedy Onwunali (Assistant Secretary) and Afam Echi (Financial Secretary).
Trumpeta Newspapers duo of Innocent Osuoha and Sampson Orji are the Association’s Ex- Officios members.
The SWAN, Imo Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka in the Association’s inaugural meeting after the election, enjoined the Executive members to work as one and help to lift the Association that they have vowed to serve.
“You have all been called to serve. You must put in your very best to ensure Imo SWAN is among the best in Nigeria. This is a reborn Imo SWAN and we must all work towards its success,” Chukwuemeka said.
