Chairman, Imo Athletics Board, Chris Onwuzurike says he is looking forward to a fruitful collaboration session with you the new Imo Sports Commissioner, Honourable Obinna Onyeocha and the Imo Sports Commission.
Onwuzurike who stated this in a congratulatory message to Imo Sports Commissioner, Onyeocha and the newly appointed Director of Sports, Imo Sports Commission, Mrs Patricia Ezeji affirmed that the Imo Athletics Board is thrilled to work with both Sports bodies for the growth of Athletics in Imo State and the South East in general.
The foremost athletics coach in a press statement noted that Imo Athletics need the state government’s attention to ensure the sport thrive in the state beyond what it has achieved at present.
He also wished the new Sports Commissioner, Onyeocha and the Director of Sports, Imo Sports Commission successful tenure in their bid to uplift Imo Sports.
We now have a new Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development in the person of Honourable Obinna Onyeocha. We celebrate his recent appointment while wishing the former Commissioner, Emeka Okoronkwo successful stint in his new assignment in the area of Special Duties.

Onwuzurike also praised the immediate past Director of Sports, Imo Sports Commission, Sir Ferdinand Emeana for the harmonious working relationship while in office while wishing him a happy retirement from service.
