Hammarby 3-2 Sirius: Ex-Eaglets’ Amoo nets second league goal

Former Golden Eaglets striker, Akinkunmi Amoo scored his second goal in the Swedish league for Hammarby who defeated Sirius 3-2 in a league tie played yesterday.

Amoo who got his first Allsvenskan goal last month in Hammarby’s 2-0 home win against Mjallby made his two in dramatic fashion after he netted what turned out to be the match-winner in the victory that secured their seventh point of the campaign from five matches. The Nigerian had started all the games unlike his debut season when he only played a cameo role.

Abdul Khalili got the curtain-raiser for Hammarby in the 14th minute. Jeppe Andersen doubled the lead in the 46th minute but Jacob Urtmark reduced the deficit for Sirius in the 50th minute.

Amoo defused the thought of a comeback when he restored the two-goal cushion in the 51st minute. A minute after Surius’ goal. Ekin Bulut scored again for the visitors in the 89th minute but Hammarby held on to record another vital win.
