A District Court sitting in Tudun Wada District of Gombe in Gombe State has vacated an order restraining the Gombe State Football Association from conducting its Elective Congress.
The court order followed and earlier Order of Exparte which stops the Association from holding a scheduled Elective Congress in Kaltungo LGA of Gombe State.
The Plaintiffs Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe and The Gombe State Sports and Football Stakeholders Forum had a case instituted against Mr. Yakubu Sarma who is the FA Chairman, Auwalu Dangusau who was referred to as the FA Secretary and Mr. Abubakar Maina Dameji who is the election committee chairman.
However, with the recent court order vacating the earlier decision, the respondents will still go ahead to organize and host the congress.
According to the court order obtained by our reporter, the court was not earlier furnished with documentary evidences by the Plaintiffs that will warrant restraining them from conducting the congress “upon the emerging factual findings by the court which is supported by documentary evidence which were not made available earlier to the court by the Plantiffs in respect of the earlier Exparte Order of the court, made on the 31st May, 2023 restraining the Defendants from conducting the Gombe State FA election slated for 10th June, 2023.”
The court therefore decided to vacate the suit “It is here by order; that the earlier order as to the FA election in this suit dated 31st May, 2023 is here by vacated and set aside.”
Meanwhile, the FA Election Committee has concluded preparations to host the Elective Congress at Mawato Hotel in Kaltungo LGA of Gombe State.
