Enugu Rangers have signed Kehinde Adedipe (Rivers United), Obinna
Eleje (unattached), Agu Kenechukwu (Lamryl United), Uche John
(Enyimba) and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu (Enyimba) to beef up their team ahead
of their forays in the domestic competitions and the CAF Confederation
Cup.
The Flying Antelopes finished third at the end of the last season and
will campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup where they have received a
bye to its first round. They are the only Nigerian club to skip the
preliminary round out of the four clubs representing the country on
the continent.
The media aide of the team, Norbert Okoli told DaSportsTainment247.com
that they are also closed to the signing of Abia Warriors’ Ibrahim
Olawoyin whose negotiations are almost complete.
He confirmed that their former player, Chinedu Udeagha is not part of
the Flying Antelopes’ playing squad against the erroneous impression
in the media that the ex-Enyimba midfielder has signed for them.
“We have signed five players officially and more are still coming in.
Ibenegbu, Uche John, Obinna Eleje, Agu Kenechukwu and Kehinde Adedipe
are our players officially while Ibrahim Olawoyin is closed to a deal
with us,” Okoli told DaSportsTainment247.com.
“We have most of the retained 22 players intact with the exception of
three players whose their future is yet to be sorted out or have moved
on for greener pasture. Michael Uchebo and Godwin Aguda were among the
retained players but we cannot ascertain their future destinations
yet. They left for overseas but have returned but Bright Silas has
already secured a move to an Egyptian club.”
