Ekwueme Tico/Select Pre-season: Lamray’s Nwachukwu promises to do more

Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Divine Nwachukwu has stated that Lamray United FC is focused on picking one of the two tickets to the semi-final of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament and are not afraid of opposition they face along the way.

Nwachukwu who starred alongside Akinkunmi Amoo and others in the Golden Eaglets team of 2019 that got to the second round of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil said they stayed motivated throughout the fixture against Enugu Rangers to ensure they were not distracted from the objective to get a positive result against them on Sunday.

The former youth international told Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Pre-season Tourney Media that they will approach their next game with FC One Rocket fixed for Wednesday with all seriousness to ensure they secure their first three points as they continue their bid for a place in the semi-finals.

“It was superb that we got a good result against Rangers. We worked very hard for it and I am happy God rewarded us with a point,” Nwachukwu said.

“It was a tough game no doubt but we put all our concentration on ensuring that we get a good result. Rangers are a good side but we wanted the points too.

“We will ensure we get a positive result against FC One Rocket whom we play next on Wednesday. I am happy to help my team to get a result against Rangers and I will continue to put in my best to ensure we pick our first win on Wednesday.”

Nwachukwu was adjudged the Man of the Match against Rangers on Sunday and he was presented with the products of Tico Select, the official kit company of the tournament.
