*Doles out cash to appreciate clubs and Associations in Imo State

Mr. Patrick Ikechukwu Osuji The President Campos FC of Owerri has doled out the sum of Two million naira ( N2,000,000 ) for the sponsorship of the 2025 Imo State FA Cup and an additional Three million, eight hundred thousand naira ( N3,800,000 ) to various football clubs and associations in Imo State.

In a press release signed by the club’s Media Manager, Divine Amadi, Mr. Osuji who disclosed this during the Imo State Football Association Congress held on Thursday 12th September, 2024 at the Imo FA office inside the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri fulfilled the pledge almost immediately on Friday September 13th at the same venue.

The owner of Campos FC who recalled how he started to become a club owner said the cash sent to various clubs and Associations was to appreciate all those that helped him in the past and that he would continue to leave his doors open to individuals who contribute something positive to him.

He said ” I am doing this on behalf of my Club Campos FC to show appreciation to the football family in Imo State for the love you all have shown to us. This is not a show off, but an expression of our gratitude, for the support and care we have received from all of you,” Osuji disclosed.

“I urge everyone to come together and harness the numerous talents in the State.

“Also, I want to thank Specially, the Imo State FA Chairman Barr. Ifeanyi Dike and his board members, for the support he and his team have shown to Campos FC, God bless you all.”

He stated that the money came from the sale of his former player Chrisantus Ugonna Uche who recently signed for Getafe CF in Spain. He promised to do more from subsequent deals.

Reacting, the Chairman of Imo State Football Association Bar. Ifeanyi Dike thanked Osuji for his financial donations stating that it takes love for anyone to do what he has done.

He promised to continue the support he has always given to everyone and encouraged football stakeholders in the State to always come to him when they need help, as his office is always open to everyone.

Barr. Dike called on other club owners and football stakeholders in the State to emulate what Osuji has done, as he made history as the first club president to donate cash to Imo FA, other football associations, and clubs” after the sale of one of his players to a European club.

Speaking on behalf of the clubs there present, Mr. Udemba Osita, who is the Chief Security Officer of Heartland FC of Owerri, representing the Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke thanked Osuji for his kind gesture towards the football family and promised that they will make judicious use of the cash donations given to them.

Osuji immediately fulfilled his promises as he sent the cash donations to the bank details of the representatives of the associations and clubs present at the venue.

(1.) IMO FA CUP = (1st Position – 1 million, 2nd Position – ₦500,000 then ₦500,000 for running tournament. ₦2,000,000 in total.
