Niger Tornadoes will play two friendly games in Lagos before embarking on the trip to Conakry, Guinea ahead of the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against Santoba.
Tornadoes were dazed 2-1 before their fans in Kaduna last weekend by the Guinean team and they must strive to better the result in Conakry to scale through to the next round when they square up on Friday in Conakry.
The Ikon Allah Boys head coach, Abubakar Bala told DaSportsTainment247.com that they are up for the challenge and have arranged two quality friendly games to keep them ready for the task ahead in Conakry.
He said they will tackle 36 Lions on Sunday evening before playing against MFM 24 hours later in another tie. “We are in Lagos to play two friendly games against 36 Lions and MFM,” Bala told DaSportsTainment247.com.
“We are traveling to Conakry on Tuesday and we deemed it necessary to play those games to ensure we are fit and ready to face Santoba in Conakry on Friday.”
Bala reckoned that they have not lost any hope and that they are poised to shame their critics who already felt they are out because of the home defeat to the Guineans.
“We are not given up in spite of the challenge we are going to face,” he continued.
“We know that many will rule us out but we are going to go there and prove that matches can be won anywhere irrespective of the first leg result and where it was played. We are going with high hope that we are going to get a positive result away from home.”
