Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has disclosed that Fulham must keep the belief and stay positive if they are to retain their premier league status at the end of the season.
The Cottagers held Burney to 1-1 draw on Wednesday with the Nigerian on the scoresheet for his second of the campaign from 20 league games and the defender lauded the performance of the team that braved the odds to share the spoils with the Clarets at Turf Moor.
Fulham presently occupied the last relegation slot (17th) with 19 points from 24 games but they have cut to six points the enormous points difference between them and 16th placed Newcastle United who have 25 points from the same number of games.
In a chat with Fulham Football Club TV, Aina disclosed:
“It came off my six-pack. It’s actually come so fast so I just six-packed it in if you want to call it that so thst’s what happened,” Aina said to FFC TV.
“We have to keep the belief, keep the standards that we have shown for the past couple of months. We must keep our heads ,keep focusing. It ‘ll give way so we just got to stay positive. For me it is alright, I don’t really see the difference much. It is just different sides, for me it is okay, I feel confident,” he concluded.
Fulham host Sheffield United at the Craven Cottage on Saturday with their sights on the maximum points while also hoping that the Magpies slip up at the Old Trafford Stadium in their Sunday tie with Manchester United.
