The head coach of A&A FC, Emmanuel Ntuk and his striker, Emmanuel Israel have hailed the organisers of Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament for helping the newly assembled Uyo team to see where they need to improve on ahead of future engagements.
Ntuk led A&A FC to five games at the tournament hosted in Aba where they won two games and lost three and the coach told the Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament Media that he is delighted they achieved the objectives they set for themselves before coming to Aba even though they didn’t win the tournament.
“They played very well despite being a new team and we have to go back home and fix some of the errors we noticed,” Ntuk told www.dasportstainment247.com.
“The pre-season tournament really helped a lot. The main reason why we were here is to market the players we have and also play good football with the target of winning the competition.
“We didn’t lose on both fronts because I thank God that some of our players have attracted recognition of some top clubs.”
In the same vein, A&A FC Attacker, Emmanuel Israel thumbed up Abia Government and the organisers of the Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament for putting up such excellent tournament with quality opposition too.
Israel, an unknown quantity before the tournament ended up as the highest scorer with six goals and three assists, and the attacker downplayed the importance of his goals while emphasising that it was his duty to score goals as a striker.
“I really appreciate God. It has been a very nice tournament. I give it to Abia Warriors. They are a very good side and they were able to beat us. We say congratulations to them,” Israel told www.dasportstainment247.com.
“We have a very strong team too but we played against Premier League teams and they proved their worth by playing in the final.
“The tournament is a very good one and I want to thank the Abia Government and the organisers of the tournament for providing us with such huge platform. It was a very fantastic tournament with quality teams too.
“I train every day to score goals and a player proves he is a striker by scoring goals. I just read it on the news that three clubs are jostling for my signature but none of them has approached me yet. I can say it is just a mere rumour because no one has been able to approach me for now,” he concluded.
