2023 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues: CNS Spikers, Oluyole Spikers, others continue winning streak on Day 3

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers of Abuja and Nigeria Correctional Service both continued to dominate the 2023 National Division 1 Volleyball League following their second consecutive victories on Wednesday at the Outdoor Court, Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

CNS Spikers who on Tuesday defeated Kwara United 3-0 in their opening game were victorious again a day later thumping UCEM Spikers 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-17) for their second win.

In similar vein, Nigeria Correctional Service outwitted Kwara United 3-0 ((25-21, 25-20, 25-21) for their second win in a Division 1 tie as well having conquered G- Ranks 3-1 on Tuesday evening. Kwara United have now lost both games played thus far and they risk demotion to Division 2 if they do not make any headways in their remaining games.

In Division 2, the battle is getting more intensed with the league at halfway stage already.

Despite arriving twenty minutes before their first match, NAF Rockets defeated Ajase Ipo 3-1 (18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-15) in the ongoing 2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League in Owerri, Imo State but they were narrowly edged 3-2 by in-form Oluyole Spikers (19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 29-31, 11-15) in their second game.

For Oluyole Spikers, the victory over NAF Rockets was their sixth consecutive win in Owerri as they edge closer to a Division 1 berth. They had earlier beaten hosts, Imo Spikers 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21) to maintain their 100 percent record.

Life Camp VC recorded their fifth and sixth win of the ongoing 2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League in Owerri, Imo State as well.

Life Camp VC beat Niger Brass 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18) and Udogu Spikers 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-11) in both encounters played at the outdoor court of Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri also.

In another Division 2 tie, Adamawa Spikers beat Udogu Spikers 3-0 (29-27, 25-20, 25-18) to record their first win at the ongoing 2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League in Owerri, Imo State. Adamawa Spikers had their previous games in the 2023 league before luck smiled on them on Wednesday.

Safety Spikers (FRSC) made it their third consecutive win in the 2023 National Division 2 Volleyball League in Owerri, Imo State.

Safety Spikers beat Ajase Ipo 3-1 (30-28, 19-25, 25-14, 25-12) and also saw off Olalomi Royal VC 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-8) to make Wednesday their best day thus far in Owerri.
Coach Sami Dogonyaro is doing well with the the newly formed volleyball team after they overcame their initial losses to Life Camp and Oluyole Spikers.
