President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Eng Musa Nimrod has hailed the sponsor of the just concluded 2023 Abuja Invitational Volleyball Challenge, Major General Gagariga
Engineer Nimrod opined that Gagariga has laid the foundation for where raw talents are discovered and he charged other good spirited Nigerians to emulate the feat shown by the sponsor to ensure Volleyball has enough players at its disposal for local and international competitions.
“I want to appreciate Major General Gagariga who sponsored the tournament. This is not the first time, he has done it in three different states and now Abuja.
“These are young raw talents where some of them are writing secondary schools exams. The competition consists of volleyball players who don’t play in the league. This is the real grassroots we are talking about.
“I am not surprised with the performance of Offa because they have developmental programmes and they have always been together. The future is bright for the game because some of them.” He concluded.
The 12th edition of Abuja Invitational Volleyball Challenge which had 50 teams made up of 25 men and women’s teams in attendance had Offa Volleyball Club and Scorpions Spikers as champions of both men and women’s categories.
