.wins Men’s 200m final in style
.Team Nigeria now third on the medal’s table with five medals
Nigeria’s Udodi Chudi Onwuzurike has bagged the third gold medal after he emerged victorious in the 200m Men’s final at the ongoing World Athletics Under 20 Championship in Nairobi, Kenya yesterday.
Onwuzurike who set a personal best time of 20.47 seconds in the semi-finals set a new national junior record with a time of 20.21 seconds to win the race ahead of 100m World Junior Champion, Letsile Tebogo of Botswana and Sinesipho Dambile who finished second and third with a time of 20.38 and 20.48 seconds respectively.
It swelled Nigeria’s medals to three gold and two bronze medals and are now third on the medal’s table behind Kenya ( five gold, one silver and three bronze medals) and Finland who have three gold and one silver medals.
