Men’s Category
Sunshine Spikers finally found their rhythm as they edged UCEM VC in a five-set thriller (2-3: 25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 23-25, 12-25), overturning a two-set deficit to claim their maiden win. Offa VC also consolidated their fine form, outlasting Nigeria Police Force in a tightly contested battle (1-3: 23-25, 25-23, 26-28, 18-25).
In the most dramatic tie of the day, NSCDC showcased resilience to overcome Kada Kings in a pulsating five-set duel (3-2: 25-20, 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, 16-14), underlining their championship credentials. COAS Spikers continued their steady march with a 3-1 victory against Nigeria Correctional Service (25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 23-25).
CNS Spikers also proved unstoppable, dispatching Kano Pillars in straight sets (3-0: 25-20, 28-26, 25-17), while Nigeria Customs Service saw off NAF Rockets (1-3: 16-25, 25-21, 14-25, 20-25) to stay firmly in contention.
Women’s Category
Olalomi Queens celebrated their first victory in the women’s division with a convincing sweep over Wikki Queens (0-3: 23-25, 19-25, 20-25), while Kada Emeralds dug deep to edge Benue Queens in a five-set thriller (2-3: 25-18, 15-25, 21-25, 28-26, 8-15).
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) extended their unbeaten run, cruising past Life Camp VC (3-0: 25-18, 25-10, 25-16), while COAS Spikers outclassed NAF Rockets (1-3: 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 24-26) in a tense four-set contest.
Defending champions, Nigeria Customs Service left no room for doubt, demolishing Anambra Queens (3-0: 25-12, 25-10, 25-12) in ruthless fashion.
The results further established NSCDC, CNS Spikers, COAS Spikers, and Nigeria Customs Service as the standout teams in the ongoing first phase, while Sunshine Spikers, Olalomi Queens, and Kada Emeralds will take confidence from finally breaking their winless streaks.
