Day 6 of the 2025 Controller General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League in Abuja lived up to expectations with thrilling encounters, dramatic comebacks, and surprising results across both the men’s and women’s divisions.

In the men’s category, Sunshine Spikers rallied back after dropping the opening set to overpower Kano Pillars 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-16) and record their second win of the campaign. Champions CNS Spikers proved too strong for Nigeria Police, easing to a straight-sets victory (25-15, 25-22, 25-19), leaving Police still winless after four outings.

The biggest upset of the day came when UCEM stunned the previously unbeaten NSCDC in a five-set thriller. Twice UCEM had to fight back before sealing the decider 16-14 to secure a famous 3-2 victory — their second of the season.

Elsewhere, COAS Spikers extended their unbeaten run by brushing aside Nigeria Air Force 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-20), while Nigeria Customs edged Offa VC 3-2 after another pulsating battle (25-22, 26-28, 25-20, 18-25, 15-7). Nigeria Correctional Service also enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Kada Kings (25-16, 25-18, 25-23), deepening Kada’s search for a first win.

The women’s games were equally gripping. Anambra Queens finally got off the mark with a morale-boosting 3-1 triumph over Wikki Spikers (25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-19), while NSCDC halted CNS Spikers’ unbeaten run with a commanding 3-1 win (25-21, 25-22, 26-28, 25-19). COAS Spikers underlined their dominance with a ruthless 3-0 sweep of Kada Queens (26-24, 25-14, 25-9).

Elsewhere, Benue Queens cruised past Olalomi 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 12-25, 25-17), while NAF Rockets inflicted a straight-sets defeat on Life Camp (25-18, 30-28, 25-21).

With teams jostling for supremacy in the first phase, Day 6 underscored the growing competitiveness of the league — a mix of champions asserting authority and underdogs proving they can upset the odds. Abuja fans can expect even fiercer contests as the league progresses.
