Turkish 1st Lig: Olawoyin debuts in Ankara Keciorengucu’s league win

Ex- Enugu Rangers and Super Eagles B team’ mercurial midfielder, Ibrahim Olawoyin has made his debut for his new club, Keciorengucu in their 2-0 home win over Adanaspor on Saturday evening in one of Week three ties of the Turkish Lig I.

The ex- Flying Antelopes midfielder secured a two-year deal that will run till 2023 with Turkish Lig 1 side, Ankara Keciorengucu for an undisclosed fee on Friday.

After a long running challenge for the economic right of the player who failed to extend his contract with the ‘Flying Antelopes’ before the ended season, management of the seven-time Nigeria league champions was able to get a 30% sell-on clause in the player’ (Ibrahim Olawoyin) next contract.

The player was unveiled by the Turkish side same day and he was introduced in the 85th minute of their 2-0 home win as a replacement for goalscorer, Vusal Isgandarli.

The club that was formed in 1945 has

now moved to the sixth spot with four points from three games after securing their first win of the season on Saturday. The Nigerian has Emeka Eze as a compatriot to count on. Eze has been in imperious form and he scored his second goal of the season on Saturday.

T.M.S manager and Team Manager for the Enugu side, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku said of the move, “We thank God for the agreement reached with regards to Ibrahim Olawoyin. We pray that he keeps doing his best to get to the pinnacle of his career.”

Olawoyin will swell the club’ international players rank to ten of the 29 squad size inside their Ankara Aktepe stadi that can take a little below five thousand spectators as they fight to push the club to the Turkish Super Lig at the end of the season.

Olawoyin will hope he gets his full debut when Ankara Keciorengucu travel as guest of Samsunspor after the international break on September 12.
