Sadiq Umar proved how important he is to Almeria FC by scoring the third goal of his team in an away fixture where they demolished Malaga 3 goals to Nil in a midweek La Liga SmartBank tie on Tuesday night.
Sadiq Umar who became a constant threat right from the commencement of proceedings no thanks to the Malaga goalkeeper, Dani Barrio who denied Sadiq on two occasions in the first half of the match. The first half ended 2 goals to nil in favour of Almeria with the goals of Lucas Robertone and Jose Carlos Lazo in the 12th and 29th minutes.
On resumption of the second half Almeria proved why they deserved the maximum points and Sadiq Umar netted his fitteenth goal of the season in the 77th minute in his 28th league of the season.
With this result, Almeria now have 60 points and a point behind Mallorca and Espanyol who are second and first on the log.
Umar has now played 44 games with 23 goals and seven assists in all competitions. He scored six goals in 10 Serbian Super Liga and three Europa League games before teaming up with Almeria. The goals never dried up in Spain. He has three games in Copa Del Rey with two goals and 28 games, 15 goals and five assists.
