Head Coach of Remo Stars FC, Daniel Ogunmodede has said it is very important for him and his boys to get all three points against Ibom Youth FC on Wednesday.

Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) return to action when they welcome Ibom Youth FC to Remo Stars Stadium on Wednesday Evening.

The Sky Blue Stars were placed BYE while other teams in the Nigeria National League (NNL) B2 got involved in matches over the weekend.

It’s the Matchday twelve (12) in the Group B2 (Southern Conference) of the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the Sky Blue Stars are yet to lose a game at home.

Ibom Youth FC edged Apex Krane in Matchday 11 in the ongoing NNL while the Sky Blue Stars defeated same Apex Krane in Delta State before they went BYE.

It is going to be an interesting encounter as both sides are contenders for the top spot, the Sky Blue Stars are three (3) points clear ahead of rivals, Bendel Insurance and Ibom Youth FC.

Both sides have scored same number of goals (12) but the Sky Blue Stars have a better defending record conceding 6goals, while Ibom Youth FC have conceded 10 goals this season.

This is the first encounter between both sides, and they will both push for victory in Wednesday’s encounter knowing fully well that the host still maintain their hundred percent home record without dropping a point, and they have dropped point at home when they drew with Bayelsa United and FC One Rocket in Ikot Ekpene Stadium.

In a chat with RSFC, he mentioned that the victory won’t just be for the sake of getting three (3) points but also to keep the top spot on the table since they started the league on top.

“Our plans for that game is to be six (6) points ahead of them (Ibom Youth) ahead of the midweek game, it’s very important for us to also go to the mid season break on top of the table. We have been topping the table since the beginning of the league, and we need to end it on top as well.”

“They (Ibom Youth) are contenders, if we win them tomorrow, it means we have been able to slow them down a little, after the game we need to be 6points ahead of them.”

“Another reason we have to win our game is because Bendel Insurance are also three (3) points behind us, we really need to win because the BYE has given us a little time to rest, we will just keep our head above waters to get the maximum points.”

A win for Remo Stars move them to 24points and also a stay on the top of B2 table before their next clash against FC One Rocket that leads to the mid-season.
