Unheralded Ozisa FM caused a major upset on Wednesday at the Green Hart Sports Arena and Bar at the ongoing Imo Radio League after they nicked a 5-4 priceless win over highly-rated Orient FM, Owerri in a Group B encounter.
Ozisa FM are thus occupying the first spot in Group A at the conclusion of the first Matchday with three points while Print Media and Bloggers and NTA are joint second with a point each. Both teams had played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Sunday in a game decided at the Green Hart Sports Arena and Bar, Owerri.
Print Media/Bloggers had trailed NTA 2-0 at the end of the first half before they turned the heat on the national television carrier in the second half to settle for a draw last weekend.
Reach FM are top of Group A with three points from a game after they dismantled Zanders FM 3-0 in a one-sided encounter played last Saturday at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Centre, Owerri in the continuation of the maiden edition of the Imo Radio League.
Darling FM followed Reach FM closely in the second spot in Group A after they narrowly edged My Radio/Gold FM 2-1 in the second game of the day also played at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Centre.
On Saturday, November 16 Reach FM will face Darling FM by 3:30 pm in Group A while on the same day NTA and Orient FM will slug it out in a battle royale in a Group B tie by 5:00 pm.
There are also two matches billed for Sunday, November 17 in Groups A and B respectively. Ozisa FM who beat Orient FM will trade tackles with Bloggers/Print by 3:30 pm while My Radio and Zanders will face each other by 5:00 pm also on Sunday to conclude Matchday two fixtures.
