Despite a matchweek left to the end of the regular season, all the six playoffs spots for the title defining Super 6 have now been filled after the conclusion of Matchweek 13 games.

Naija Ratels came back from a goal down to snatch the third ticket in Group A from the claws of Confluence Queens who finished their matches for the season while Delta Queens pipped FC Robo Queens to the remaining ticket in Group B after they defeated the Lagos Landladies 2-1 in Asaba.

The six teams that will take part in the season ending Super 6 are Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons and Naija Ratels from Group A while Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels and Delta Queens are the three qualifying teams from Group B.

In one of the Group A games played on Wednesday in Abuja, Naija Ratels continued their fairy tale run in their debut season in the NWFL Premiership after they beat Confluence Queens 2-1 to pick the third ticket to the Championship playoffs with 18 points from 11 games.

Augustina Unamba shocked Naija Ratels with the curtain raiser for Confluence Queens in the eighth minute but Folorunsho Aminat restored parity for Naija Ratels in the 63rd minute before
Motunrayo Ezekiel’s 94th minute stunner clinched the maximum points for Barrister Paul Edeh’s led ladies.

Naija Ratels are destined to finish the regular season in the top three even if they are beaten in Lafia by Nasarawa Amazons next Wednesday in the last game of the regular season. Fourth placed Confluence Queens ended their games for the season with the surprise defeat in Abuja. They finished with 16 points.

In the other Group A game played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo Queens returned to winning ways in dramatic fashion thrashing Pelican Stars 4-0 with Yetunde Fajobi and Chioma Olise among the goals. The Obaseki Ladies consolidated their stronghold on first spot with 26 points from 11 games but Pelican Stars have been relegated with only four points from 11 matches.

The drama in Group B got resolved on Wednesday with Delta Queens pipping FC Robo Queens to secure their place in the Super 6 despite still with a game to the end of the regular season in Warri against Royal Queens next week.

Chinaza Agoh put Delta Queens in the driver’s seat in the first minute but Super Falcons attacker, Gift Monday got the equaliser for FC Robo two minutes into the second half. Racheal Okotete scored the back breaking winning goal for Delta Queens in the 83rd minute.

Delta Queens who currently are joint second with 20 points from 11 games will finish either second or third depending on how their game with Royal Queens pans out next week and the result between Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens in Port Harcourt next Wednesday.

Bayelsa Queens have emerged as Group B winner after their fourth consecutive victory at home to Abia Angels whom they whitewashed 5-0 with Joy Jerry, Edidiong Etim, Kafayat Bashiru with a brace and Vincent Precious as goals scorers. The Gloryland Ladies have 24 points from 11 games and they cannot be overtaken again on the table by either Rivers Angels or Delta Queens who both are on 20 points each from 11 matches.

While Sunshine Queens boosted their faint survival chances with their second win of the season a 1-0 home victory over Royal Queens. Ovoma Ovie grabbed the all important goal in the 55th minute of the game. The Betsy Ladies still remain at the bottom of the table with seven points. They face Abia Angels in Umuahia on Wednesday in a winner takes all fixture.

In the final game of the Week, Adamawa Queens will host Nasarawa Amazons on Thursday at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.
