The Organizing Secretary of Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF), organizers NDDC U-17 Peace Cup, Mr. Ada Gwegwe has assured that everything has been put in place to ensure a successful tournament.
Ada Gwegwe gave the assurance on Saturday while receiving teams that came in to Akwa Ibom State from the Niger Delta region.
He said screening will hold on Sunday morning by 8.am at Ikot Ekpene stadium, which is also the venue for the opening ceremony.
The Organizing Secretary noted that players will be screened, adding that any team that violate the rules and regulations of the tournament, will be disqualified.
Gwegwe used the opportunity to call on all sports lovers in Akwa Ibom State to turn out en-mass to witness the opening ceremony which is scheduled for 2pm.
Meanwhile, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs will perform the ceremonial kick-off at the opening match.
Also expected at the event is the Sole Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Pastor (Barr.) Efiong Akwa.
