The finals of ‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 tournament will kick-off at the Chuba Ikpeazu Mini Stadium, Onitsha on March 29th organisers have disclosed.
Oliver Ndigwe, member of Anambra Football State Football Association (ASFA) and chairman of the Super 8 Organising Committee said on Sunday that the transfer window which opened after the playoffs would close on March 15.
‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 is organised by Anambra FA and sponsored by Aspire FC Adazi-Ani, a Nationwide League One, Division One football club based in Anambra.
Ndigwe said said draws for the eight teams that qualified for the finals would hold on March 17th.
It would be recalled that the playoffs of ‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 held between Feb. 1 and Feb. 3 with 27 grassroots football clubs drawn from the three senatorial zones of the state.
The chairman said the eight finalists which included two teams from each of three senatorial zones and two best losers were Smith City FC, Awka, Pope John Paul FC, Okouno and Rangels FC, Achina.
Others were GP World FC Nnewi, IFechikwuku FC, Omor, Mecon FC, Umunze, Konti FC Umunnachi and Golden Boys FC Onitsha.
He said the group matches would be played in Onitsha while the grand finale would be at the NEROS stadium, Nanka on April 3.
He said cash prizes await teams including a Nationwide Division Two slot for the first place winner.
