Leading marksman in the ongoing NPFL 2022 season, Ishaq Rafiu Kayode has played down his electrifying start to the league season as he seeks improvement in other aspects of his game.

Kayode has scored nine league goals from 10 games and despite his awesome statistics, the former 3SC and Remo Stars’ striker wrote on his Twitter handle: “Not there yet. I still have a long way to go but I’m happy with the progress made so far.

“Hoping to be a better player game after game, as we continue our quest for a glorious finish at the end of the season.”

With Kayode’s goals Rivers United are second on the premier league table with 22 points from 11 after they lost 1-0 to Plateau United in Jos to surrender their unbeaten start to the season.
