The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (AWAN), Imo State chapter wants to commend one of the State’s daughters, Desire Ugochi Oparanozie for her exploits as a professional female footballer especially for the nation’s senior national team, Super Falcons, and her clubside in the French Female League, Dijon FC.
Imo SWAN also wants to laud the former Super Falcons captain for her humanitarian services powered by her foundation to help the girl child.
We are thrilled with her support programmes made possible through the Desire Oparanozie Foundation in collaboration with Team Nigeria UK, “Health Care For Girls” outreach, centered on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
We are delighted at the initiative which is pioneered by Super Falcons forward, Desire Oparanozie, aims at giving back to her Alma Mater, Girls Secondary School, Ikenegbu, Owerri which comes up by 10 am, Saturday, 10th July 2021, at the school premises.
We also praised the former Rossiyanka (Russia), Guingamp (France), and Wolfsburg (Germany) striker, whose project in 2019, tagged “Encouraging the Young Nigerian Dreamer” through sports for secondary schools, for deeming it necessary to educate school students and keep them abreast on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), which is an emergency procedure that combines chest compression often with artificial ventilation, to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.
