Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has passed a vote of confidence on Kumbi Titiloye led Kwara United board.
The Governor made the disclosure on Tuesday when he paid a visit to the ongoing construction and renovation at the Ilorin Stadium.
Mallam Abdulrazaq said his administration will support Kwara United and ensure they get the necessary encouragement to compete with already established teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
He said, “So far so good, we need to encourage the management of Kwara United and the team to reach an enviable height. Kumbi Titiloye and his board members are doing a great job by bringing glory to the state via football.
“My administration is ready to give maximum support to Kwara United and I am optimistic the team will be among the best teams in the country.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of Kwara United, Kumbi Titiloye commended the governor for his unflinching support to the development of Kwara United.
He said the vote of confidence calls for more work from the management and players
Titiloye said, “It means we need to double our efforts because with the little resources of Kwara State if his Excellency will show love to us by supporting us financially, we need to double our efforts not just collecting money and relaxing hereby making his Excellency proud.”
Commenting on the victories recorded by Kwara United at home, Kumbi Titiloye said:”We make sure the boys are relaxed and focused; we let them realise that they are the product we are selling and we support them to do well”.
He urged fans of Kwara United to pray for the success of the team.
He said, “Pray for us, support us and we will do our best to make sure people are happy with our results home and abroad”.
Kwara United will be facing MFM in Lagos this coming Sunday in their next NPFL game.
